What you need to know.
The spending model: subscription plus Dreamcoins
OurDream is more than a chat subscription: it combines fictional characters and text with generated images, videos and voice. Most purchasing mistakes arise from treating the membership price as an all-inclusive media price. Subscriber chats on the normal models may consume no Dreamcoins, while premium-model replies, visual generation and voice activities have their own published charges.
Exactly what Standard costs
The published Standard subscription is $19.99 per month, or $119.88 paid upfront for one year, which is advertised as $9.99 per month equivalent. Monthly subscribers receive 1,000 Dreamcoins on their billing anniversary. Annual subscribers start with 2,000 Dreamcoins—including a one-time 1,000 bonus—and then receive 1,000 each month. Coins are not simply restored to a fixed monthly ceiling; the provider says they do not refresh monthly in the sense of resetting existing balances.
How quickly media uses Dreamcoins
Published standard image generation costs 10 Dreamcoins for two images. A standard five-second video costs 100 Dreamcoins, and voice calling costs 50 Dreamcoins per minute. An order of two standard pictures plus five five-second videos and five minutes of voice would use 10 + 500 + 250 = 760 Dreamcoins. That sits within the ordinary 1,000-coin monthly deposit, assuming nothing else consumes the balance. It does not establish a cash price for future coin top-ups, and higher-end media modes can charge more.
A larger workload—eight standard images, ten standard videos and ten voice minutes—would consume 40 + 1,000 + 500 = 1,540 Dreamcoins. That exceeds a fresh monthly 1,000-coin deposit by 540 coins if there are no previous balances or bonuses. Extra coins have to be acquired under the provider’s purchase conditions. The pricing tool treats their dollar cost as unknown unless a pack price is documented.
Free access and the annual decision
Browsing characters does not mean all interactions are free. The provider’s cost guide charges non-subscribers one Dreamcoin per chat message where that interaction is available; image and video generation require a subscription. Annual billing makes sense only when you expect sustained use. Buyers who are uncertain about the character gallery or generation controls should consider the shorter financial commitment first.
How it compares with Candy AI
Both products have a recurring fee plus a currency used for media, but OurDream publicly states standard Dreamcoin costs for several precise actions. Candy’s documented token prices depend on the selected action screen. That can make OurDream easier to model for standard media workloads without implying its output quality is superior. Compare the kind of image or video you want to make, then calculate recurring and extra spending.
Our buying verdict
Choose OurDream if you want a story-and-character environment with clearly published standard media consumption and can work within a coin budget. Consider Candy AI if a lower annual entry payment and its particular character experience matter more. The best choice depends on the media mode and the cash price of any additional coins, not just the subscription label.
Additional features and practical details
The core buying issue: Dreamcoins, not just the plan
OurDream combines conversation and AI media with a named in-app currency, Dreamcoins. Unlike platforms where media unit costs are largely hidden on the public marketing page, its help center publishes specific charges for several actions. That makes it possible to estimate how quickly a media-heavy user could exhaust the included balance.
The key caveat is that coin use is not the same as cash spending. A subscription provides recurring coins; once you require extra coins, the additional cash cost depends on available packs and purchase terms. Extra-coin pack prices and minimum purchases should be checked in the account billing screen.
Published subscriptions and included balance
The official standard-plan help article lists $19.99 USD for the monthly plan and $119.88 USD paid upfront for the annual option (advertised as $9.99 per month equivalent). Both provide 1,000 Dreamcoins per month; the annual plan adds a one-time 1,000-coin introductory bonus in the provider’s current explanation.
For a one-month comparison, annual billing should not be displayed as if it only commits you to $9.99. You pay the full annual amount. Conversely, someone planning twelve months can compare the total payments and the applicable coin deposits. Taxes, region and promotions may alter the actual checkout.
What the official coin schedule reveals
For paying subscribers, the help center describes standard image generation as 10 coins for a batch of two images, standard five-second video as 100 coins, and voice calls as 50 coins per minute. Premium models and advanced generation routes can cost more; the same support article also lists alternatives such as higher-quality video and image editing.
Here is a concrete scenario: a month with 20 standard images (ten two-image batches), five standard five-second videos and 5 minutes of voice calling uses approximately 100 + 500 + 250 = 850 Dreamcoins, before any other premium chat or media actions. That is inside the documented 1,000-coin monthly deposit. Change the workload to ten videos and ten voice minutes, however, and the media alone can exceed 1,500 coins.
The calculator uses those standard-action assumptions as explicitly labeled units. A “video” means one standard five-second creation—not an arbitrary-length clip or an ultra-quality model. If you choose a different mode, replace the inputs with the corresponding official rate and confirm the current pricing.
The limits of an exact cash quote
The provider notes that subscribers receive recurring Dreamcoins and that additional coins can be purchased through the account. However, unless a coin-pack purchase price and pack size have been verified, an amount of coins above the allowance is only a shortfall—not a known additional dollar cost. The calculator should say that clearly.
Also distinguish included coin deposits from rollover. The help center says coins do not reset like a “use it or lose it” monthly meter; users should still verify expiry, account status and cancellation terms before budgeting on long-held balances.
Cancellation and privacy decisions
OurDream’s official cancellation guide directs subscribers to their profile, says access continues to the end of the billing period and explains that cancellation does not automatically produce a refund. It also discusses remaining Dreamcoins and what happens after access ends. Save the provider’s cancellation confirmation.
As with any companion platform, avoid uploading personally identifiable images or sensitive details until you have reviewed its current data and deletion policies. A public example gallery is not evidence about private-account storage practices.
Who should shortlist OurDream?
- Especially relevant: people who can describe their likely media use in numbers and want a published coin schedule against which to budget.
- Investigate further: users expecting long-duration video or premium models, because the standard five-second unit estimate will not be sufficient.
- Not established: independent output quality, actual credit-pack cash prices and comparative memory performance.
When the standard-unit estimate breaks down
OurDream’s published 100-coin video figure describes a standard five-second generation, not a ten-second ultra-quality clip with audio. The help center lists other video and editing operations at different rates. Therefore a ten-video input in our calculator does not mean “ten videos of any length and quality”; it means ten standard five-second actions as explicitly labeled.
Images have a batching rule too: standard image creation is charged as 10 coins for two images. If you request an odd number of images in that mode, the conservative calculation rounds up to the next batch rather than counting half of a chargeable two-image generation. A person asking for one image may consume the same 10 coins as a person requesting two in a batch.
Finally, a coin balance is not cash. The price of additional coins and whether a specific account can buy them should be confirmed directly in the service account. Because OurDream says additional coin purchases require an active subscription, a cancelled account with a remaining balance should not automatically be modeled as if the user can always buy extras.
